Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) are the basic unit of resource allocation in 5G NR. The number of PRBs depends on the channel bandwidth and the Subcarrier Spacing (SCS). As defined in TS 38.101, some subcarriers are reserved as guard bands to reduce adjacent channel interference (ACLR).
Physical Resource Block. Contains 12 subcarriers in the frequency domain.
Subcarrier Spacing. 15/30/60kHz for FR1, 60/120/240kHz for FR2.
Typically derived from the FFT size (e.g. 2048, 4096) required to span the bandwidth.
